B&O shoots down the Zeppelin
A late entry into the market but maybe the best sounding, the Beosound 8 benefits from the active speaker technology that B&O has championed for many years. Class D amplification is used for the two way loudspeakers and a placement switch is present which allows free standing, wall or corner settings.
The dock connection allows iPods, iPhones or iPads to be used and the provision of a line in connection allows other devices to attach.
In addition, a mini USB socket allows the customer to connect either a PC or Mac or an Airport Express to allow music to be played from their computer. A special Application written for the iPhone will be available which allows the music library to be browsed and also gives the BeoSound 8 both Alarm Clock functions and Net radio capabilities.
A wall bracket is available or the Beosound 8 can be used as a table top set.
Initially the speaker covers will be either black or white but Blue. Purple , Green and yellow covers will soon be available.
Control will either be via the iPod or with the Beosound 8 remote, which is aluminium. The set is also controllable with the Beo4,5 or 6.
From launch the BeoPlay A8 was supplied with a pair of aluminium feet for table top mounting and also a fixed wall bracket for wall mounting. Bang & Olufsen designed the floor stand which was manufactured and distributed by STBbrackets from August 2012 as a joint collaboration.
Bang & Olufsen's preferred supplier for brackets and stands, STBbrackets, made the floor stand under a B&O design and also a fully articulated wall bracket with internal cable routing. Distributed throughout the World by the Bang & Olufsen store network, the STB options add to the diversity of mounting options and positions available.
»Floor Stands & Wall Brackets
This Floor Stand for the BeoSound 8 has been designed to compliment the visual aesthetic of this stereo system. When mounted to the stand, the top of BeoSound 8 is positioned 900mm from the floor. The mains connection cable can pass internally through the 25mm aluminium pole to give a wire free installation.
The flexible wall mount bracket for BeoSound 8 allows you to rotate your HiFi to the best position for listening, giving you the best possible sound quality. The total range of rotation is 90 degrees, 45 degrees to the left and 45 degrees to the right. If you would like to mount BeoSound 8 in the corner of the room, this is the perfect solution.
